COBA Plastics’ spacious new Engineering and Technical Development Centre is open and in full operation at our Leicestershire headquarters. It follows significant investment, and a 26 week construction project. We are very proud of the end result and our vision is for this to be recognised as centre of engineering excellence.
Our Technical Development, Design and Engineering teams now have a first class facility to work from, and all our wire erosion and machine building/assembly plant has been relocated. We have also moved the team our Bowden Precision Engineering (part of the COBA International Group) into this purpose-built facility.
The 1,100 square metres building next to COBA Plastics has a modern glass fronted façade, its own dedicated car parking and reception area, as well as offices and meeting rooms on two floors. The building has some 21 square metres of solar panels. Energy efficiency – in line with our Energy Efficiency Programme – has been a key part of the building design and this has proved hugely successful, even exceeding our targets.
