On 1st July 2018, COBA Plastics Ltd changes its name to COBA Automotive (UK) Ltd.
COBA Plastics Ltd has enjoyed a long and successful heritage as a supplier to the automotive manufacturing industry for over 50 years. Today, we are proud to be a market leader within our field of expertise, as a trusted Tier 1 and OEM supplier of thermoplastic extruded and moulded components working in partnership with the world’s largest automotive manufacturers.
Never complacent, we always look to the future. The new name, we believe, underlines COBA’s maturity and reputation within the industry, while reflecting more accurately our core business activity. It also reinforces our commitment to our automotive customers, both in the short and long-term, while strategically aligning us even closer with our company vision.
We will continue to invest in our engineering and manufacturing facilities as well as our technology and processes here at our Fleckney headquarters in Leicestershire, along with our skilled and motivated people who we recognise as being pivotal to our success.
Through COBA Precision, we already have a state-of-the-art engineering centre here in the UK, giving us the capability to design and develop innovative products, utilising cutting edge prototyping testing and FEA simulation. These very often support weight and cost reduction initiatives. We also have versatile injection moulding and overmoulding capabilities, through COBA Plastics Moulding.
We partner our automotive customers in a wide range of projects from design through to manufacture. The products we manufacture broadly span glazing system seals, gaskets for roof rail/roof ditch assembly, weather seals, underbonnet seals, air management seals, as well as interior/exterior trim and other components. Significantly, we also offer one of the largest ranges of automotive trim retainers.
Such ongoing commitment and investment will, collectively, further enhance our design, development and manufacturing capabilities, and the already high levels of service we deliver to our automotive customers in the UK and around the globe.
Trading as COBA Automotive (UK) Ltd, gives us scope for growth in this important sector and marks an exciting new chapter for the company, and the COBA group as a whole, which today employs some 900+ people within 10 facilities at locations across Europe, Asia and South Africa.
